Tension Mounts In Utkal University Campus Over Group Clash

Bhubaneswar: Palpable tension prevailed on the Utkal University campus after a clash broke out between two groups on Sunday.

According to sources, a scuffle erupted between two student groups over some statements made by a JNU Professor during a seminar on Sunday.

Citizens’ Forum had organised a seminar at the PG Council Hall of the university where the concerned JNU Professor was giving a speech. Later, he made some statements which were opposed by a student leader.

It eventually took a violent turn when a clash broke out between two groups over the same in which two persons sustained injuries. Thereafter, both groups lodged FIR at Saheed Nagar Police Station in this regard.

However, the actual cause behind the matter is yet to be ascertained. A detailed probe is underway.
