Youth Fired At In Dhenkanal’s Meramandali

Dhenkanal: Two unidentified armed miscreants opened fire at a youth near the Tata Steel Meramandali boundary wall under the Kantabania police station limits on Monday in Dhenkanal district.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a young man they recognised as Rabi Kumar from Bihar arguing with two other people close to factory gate number 4. After the heated argument, one of them pulled out a pistol and shot at the victim’s head.

Locals came to Rabi’s aid. But the attackers managed to escape from the spot. The injured victim was initially admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), Dhenkanal. Later he was shifted to Angul Hospital because of his grave condition.

Meanwhile, the police have initiated a probe into the matter and have assured that the perpetrators of the crime will not be spared.
