Decision on ‘Shivling’ of Gyanvapi Masjid On November 17

Varanasi: The verdict on the Gyanvapi Masjid case will be delivered on November 17. The Varanasi civil judge, senior division fast track court, will deliver the verdict on a plea seeking right to worship ‘Shivling’ that was discovered on Gyanvapi Masjid premises.

In this case, the petition mainly seeks three demands. These demands include permission to worship the Hindu side’s Swayambhu Jyotirlinga Bhagwan Vishweshwar, handing over of the Gyanvapi masjid complex to Hindus, and ban on entry of Muslim community into the Gyanvapi complex.

As per the Supreme Court’s order in May 2022, the ‘Shivling’ area inside Varanasi’s mosque has been kept secure. On November 11, the Supreme Court extended its previous order for the protection of ‘Shivling’ discovered at the premises of Gyanvapi Mosque in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh till further notice.
