Rahul Gandhi to Kick Off Congress’ Flagship ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ Today

Thoubal (Manipur): Congress, under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, is set to kick off the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ today, covering 15 states and 100 Lok Sabha seats. Beginning in Thoubal, Manipur, the 67-day march spans 6,700 km, with a focus on countering the perceived injustices of the 10-year Modi government.

The ideological nature of the yatra was emphasized by the Congress, claiming it is not merely an electoral endeavour. Rahul Gandhi aims to cover 110 districts, spending significant time in politically crucial Uttar Pradesh, followed by Jharkhand, Assam, and Madhya Pradesh.

In Uttar Pradesh, the yatra passes through key areas, including Amethi, Rae Bareli, and Varanasi. With the grand old party seeking a resurgence in the state, this strategic move aims to connect with voters on the ground.

Starting from Thoubal, Manipur, the yatra is set against the backdrop of ethnic violence in the region since May 2023. Rahul Gandhi will pay homage at the Khongjom War Memorial before the yatra moves on to Nagaland, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya.

The Congress, inviting Opposition leaders to join the journey, aims to cover 6,713 km, addressing geographical disparities and connecting with communities. The yatra will traverse West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra, concluding on March 20.
