India Tour Of NZ: Bruised India Eye To Reclaim Lost Esteem

Wellington: Just as the World Cup got wrapped up last week, another bilateral series is all set to enthrall cricket lovers from November 18. New Zealand and India are scheduled to lock horns at the Sky Stadium, Wellington.

Despite having an outstanding run in the Super 12 stages of the T20 World Cup 2022, both teams were eliminated in the semi-finals.

A fantastic series is on the cards with two top-notch teams going head-to-head.

Veteran batter Martin Guptill was left out by the Kiwis, whereas seam bowler Trent Boult’s choice to deny a central contract did not win him any favours. Meanwhile, the quick bowlers on the team, who have not had many opportunities, will have a lot more of them as a result.

However, the visitors would be eyeing to assemble a team for the next T20 World Cup in 2024. Hardik Pandya has been entrusted to lead the Indian side in the absence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma and other senior pros.

The Wellington drop-in pitch is anticipated to be favourable for batting, and the bowlers will have their work cut out for them. According to the past record at the venue, the chasing teams have had it easy so far.
