India vs England Semi-Final: Will The Blue Brigade Shatter Their Knockout Curse?

Nine long years have passed since India last lifted an ICC trophy.  India last won the 2013 Champions Trophy under MS Dhoni. Since then India is going through a disastrous run when it comes to ICC knockout games.

India has since been to the finals of the 2014 T20 World Cup, 2017 Champions Trophy,  2021 World Test Championships, the Semi-finals of the 2015 and 2019 50-Over World Cups, and 2016 T20 World Cup. But it always crashed out in the knockout stages, giving major heartbreaks to the fans.

Meanwhile, India stands at an advantage against England. The English team has not played a single game at the Adelaide Oval this WC, where the semi-final is to be played. Further, Adelaide is the same ground where they were knocked out by a meek Bangladesh team in the 2015 50-over World Cup.

England’s injury concerns just before the concluding stage of the T20 World Cup have raised numerous eyebrows in the England camp. In contrast, the Indian batting line-up has so far had a phenomenal run in the WC. This might just be the situation for India to break through their knockout failure jinx.
