Kohli, Suryakumar, Hardik Named In ICC Men’s T20I Team Of The Year 2022

Dubai: The ICC has announced the Men’s T20I team of the year 2022 today. India batters Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and all rounder Hardik Pandya are part of the side.

Virat Kohli is positioned at number 3. The right-hander finished as the second-highest run getter in the 2022 Asia Cup with 276 runs in five matches. Kohli also scored his 71st international century against Afghanistan in the tournament. In the T20 World Cup, Kohli ended up as the highest run scorer with 296 runs, including a stunning innings of 82* against Pakistan.

India batter Suryakumar Yadav, who has been positioned at number 4, is the second batter to score more than 1000 runs in a calendar year in T20Is. He ended up scoring 1164 runs with two hundreds and nine half-centuries at a strike rate of 187.43 last year. In the T20 World Cup, the right-hand batter scored 239 runs at a strike rate of 189.68. He was the No.1 batter in the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s T20I Player rankings.

All-rounder Hardik Pandya amassed 607 runs while picking up 20 wickets in the calendar year 2022. In the T20 World Cup, it was Pandya who was at the other end during Kohli’s knock against Pakistan and scored a valuable 40. In the semi-final against England, it was the all-rounder’s 33-ball 63 that took India to a respectable total.

Jos Buttler has been named as both captain and wicketkeeper. The other players in the team are Mohammad Rizwan (Pakistan), Glenn Phillips (New Zealand), Sikandar Raza (Zimbabwe), Sam Curran (England), Wanindu Hasaranga (Sri Lanka), Haris Rauf (Pakistan) and Josh Little (Ireland).
