Football Legend Ronaldinho to visit Kolkata during Durga Puja

Retired Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho is set to make his first visit to Kolkata during the upcoming Durga Puja festivities next month. The visit is scheduled to take place between October 15 and 19, pending confirmation of the date for the Barca Legends match in Congo.

During his stay, Ronaldinho is expected to participate in a brief charity football match and make appearances at a football clinic and a Durga Puja pandal. Additionally, he will have the honour of inaugurating a statue dedicated to the Argentine FIFA World Cup winner, Lionel Messi.

In addition to these exciting events, Ronaldinho will engage in sponsor meet-and-greet events and explore the nearby town of Rishra. This visit is made possible by an official who has a track record of bringing football legends to the city, including Maradona, Pele, and Cafu. Notably, he also played a crucial role in arranging the visit of the current Argentinian World Cup-winning goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez, this past July.

Kolkata holds a special place in Ronaldinho’s heart as he has established the R10 Academy, his football academy, in the city’s Rajarhat area.
