Virat Kohli Fan Allegedly Thrased by Security After Breaching Field; Viral Video Sparks Outrage

Bengaluru: In a recent IPL match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings, a fan managed to breach security and meet Virat Kohli on the pitch, touching his feet and hugging him. The incident caused a stir on social media, with a video circulating of the fan allegedly being beaten by security personnel at the stadium. However, the identity of the individual in the viral video has not been confirmed.

Meanwhile, Kohli made headlines during the match by achieving a significant milestone. He notched up his 100th T20 fifty-plus score, becoming the first Indian and the third player overall to accomplish this feat. Kohli’s stellar performance saw him scoring 77 runs off 49 balls, comprising 11 fours and two sixes, at a striking rate exceeding 157. With this, Kohli reaffirmed his status as one of the most prolific batsmen in T20 cricket.

Despite Kohli’s outstanding performance, Punjab Kings struggled to capitalize on favorable batting conditions. While their batters, including skipper Shikhar Dhawan, Jitesh Sharma, and Sam Curran, showed promise with their starts, none managed to convert them into substantial scores. Ultimately, Punjab Kings posted a modest total of 176/6 in their allotted 20 overs on the batting-friendly Chinnaswamy track.
