Nowruz 2023: Google Doodle’s Floral Art Celebrates Persian New Year

New Delhi: Google has designed stunning floral art to celebrate the ancient festival of Nowruz, the start of the Iranian or Persian New Year. The doodle highlights the importance of the ancient holiday that marks the beginning of spring.

Nowruz, which means “New Day”, originated in Zoroastrianism, an Iranian religion. Though rooted in Iranian traditions, the festival is celebrated by many communities in Central and Western Asia.

Nowruz is an over 3,000-year-old festival. The celebrations, which last 13 days, begin with the vernal equinox when the sun crosses the equator.
