2 CRPF Constables Killed in IED Blast by Naxalites in Chhattisgarh

Raipur: Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel lost their lives in a targeted Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack by Naxalites in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred near Timmapuram village, situated between Silger and Tekalgudem security camps, approximately 400 kilometres from the state capital, Raipur.

The victims, identified as Constable Shailendra, 29, and vehicle driver Vishnu R, 35, were members of the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) 201 battalion. They were conducting a routine patrol as part of a Road Opening Party when their truck was struck by the IED around 3 PM.

Local police have initiated a search operation in the area while working to recover the bodies of the fallen personnel.

This attack follows a series of encounters between security forces and Naxalites in Chhattisgarh, including an operation in Bijapur district last April that resulted in the neutralization of over 15 Naxalites.
