Ratna Bhandar of Puri Jagannath Temple to be Opened on July 8

Puri: The Ratna Bhandar of Puri Srimandir will be opened on July 8, informed the superintendent of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) DB Garnayak on Wednesday.

According to the ASI superintendent, the Ratna Bhandar will be opened on July 8 in the presence of the core committee and technical committee for inspection.

As per the 2018 report, an earlier inspection had revealed cracks at the Ratna Bhandar. Some stones of the treasure trove had fallen and some iron rods were also missing.

Laser scanning of the Ratna Bhandar also identified cracks in the outer wall and joints. According to the ASI, rainwater may be seeping into the Ratna Bhandar through these cracks.
