Netanyahu’s War Cabinet In Turmoil As Minister Issues Gaza Ultimatum

Jerusalem: As tensions escalate in Gaza, divisions emerge within Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet, with Defence Minister Benny Gantz issuing a deadline for a unified plan.

Gantz has set forth a six-point plan ultimatum, demanding clarity on post-conflict governance in Gaza by June 8, threatening to withdraw his centrist party from the emergency coalition if Netanyahu fails to comply.

Addressing reporters, Gantz criticized certain leaders’ “cowardice” amid the bravery of Israeli soldiers on the front lines.

In response, Netanyahu countered Gantz’s ultimatum, asserting that such demands would jeopardize Israel’s strategic position, endanger hostages and empower Hamas, potentially leading to the establishment of a Palestinian state.
