Hezbollah Claims Drone, Missile Strike on Israeli Base in Retaliation

Beirut: Lebanon’s Hezbollah, backed by Iran, launched a drone and missile attack on an Israeli base in retaliation for Israeli strikes that killed three Hezbollah fighters. This marks the third consecutive day of Hezbollah strikes in Israel.

Hezbollah targeted a military reconnaissance command centre in Arab al-Aramshe, northern Israel, using guided missiles and drones. The attack was in response to Israel’s assassination of Hezbollah fighters in Ain Baal and Shehabiya the day before.

Six people were injured in Western Galilee, with one in serious condition, as per reports. The Israeli army retaliated by striking the sources of fire in Lebanon.

On Tuesday, Israel announced strikes in southern Lebanon, resulting in the deaths of two Hezbollah commanders and another operative. Hezbollah responded with missiles, resulting in three of its members’ deaths. Earlier that day, three were injured in a Lebanese attack, according to Israeli authorities.

On Monday, Hezbollah injured four Israeli soldiers with explosive devices in Lebanese territory, marking the first such attack in six months of clashes.

The violence has claimed at least 368 lives in Lebanon, mostly Hezbollah fighters, and about 70 civilians. In Israel, 10 soldiers and eight civilians have died near the northern border since the conflict began.

Tens of thousands of civilians on both sides have fled their homes, raising concerns of a full-scale conflict between Hezbollah and Israel, who last fought in 2006.
