Youth Injured in Wild Bear Attack In Kalahandi

Bhawanipatna: A youth was seriously injured when he was attacked by two wild bears in the Jaipatna Forest Range of Kalahandi district on Tuesday.

The injured youth identified as Laxman Naik of Pandripakhan village is now admitted to the Kalahandi District Headquarters Hospital.

According to reports, Naik faced the wild bear attack while he going to attend to nature’s call on the banks of a canal near his village on Tuesday morning.

Naik managed to escape from the clutches of the attacking wild bears. When he reached home in injured condition, his family members rushed him to the Koksara Government Hospital. After being provided first aid, he was immediately shifted to the Kalahandi District Headquarters Hospital as his wounds were serious.

After getting information, forest department officials have reached the spot for investigation.
