Odisha Monsoon Watch: Southerly Arrival Expected in 3-4 Days

Bhubaneswar: Odisha residents can finally breathe a sigh of relief as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts the arrival of the southwest monsoon in south Odisha within the next 3-4 days. This comes as welcome news for residents battling scorching heat and uncomfortable humidity.

The IMD’s forecast indicates favourable conditions for the monsoon’s advancement across several regions, including parts of central Arabian Sea, Maharashtra (including Mumbai), Telangana, remaining areas of coastal Andhra Pradesh, some parts of south Chhattisgarh, and finally, south Odisha.

While the wait for the monsoon continues, residents can expect a slight increase in maximum temperatures by 2-3 degrees Celsius over the next three days. However, the IMD predicts temperatures to stabilize thereafter across most districts in Odisha.

Additionally, a yellow alert has been issued for potential heatwave conditions, along with a forecast for thunderstorm activities.
