Light Rain Expected in Parts of Odisha from Feb 10th, Temperature Variations Likely

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar has forecasted light to moderate rain or thundershower in certain districts of Odisha from February 10 onwards. According to the mid-day bulletin released by the IMD, no significant synoptic system is expected over the region during this period.

Temperature-wise, the IMD noted a rise in minimum temperatures in some districts of South Coastal Odisha, North Coastal Odisha, and Interior Odisha. However, there has been no large change elsewhere. Minimum temperatures were notably below normal in certain areas of Interior Odisha, markedly above normal in a few places across the state, and appreciably above normal in many coastal areas.

Looking ahead, the IMD predicts no major change in minimum temperatures over the next two days, followed by a gradual fall of 2oC to 3oC in many places across Odisha.

On February 10, light to moderate rain or thundershower is expected in districts including Bargarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, and Nuapada, while dry weather is anticipated in the remaining districts.

Moving to February 11, similar weather conditions are forecasted for districts like Bargarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and others, with light to moderate rain or thundershower predicted. Dry weather is likely to prevail in other districts.

On February 12, light to moderate rain or thundershower is expected in districts such as Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jajpur, and Kendrapara, while dry weather is forecasted for the rest of Odisha.

According to the latest observations, the highest maximum temperature recorded was 35.0°C in Paralakhemundi and Bhawanipatna, while the lowest minimum temperature was 15.5°C in Phulbani in the plains of Odisha.
