Theni (Tamil Nadu): Eight devotees were killed and two including a nine-year-old boy injured after the car carrying them fell into a 40-feet-deep pit in Tamil Nadu’s Theni district.
The devotees were hailing from Sanmugasundarapuram village near Andipatti. They were on their way to home after visiting Sabarimala when their car met with an accident late Friday.
“Eight devotees died after their car plunged into a 40-feet-deep pit at Kumuli mountain pass in Theni district,” KV Muralidharan, District Collector, Theni said. He added that two persons were rescued and rushed to a hospital.
