Self-Styled Godman Fraud: Accused Has Over 80 Accounts; Also Duped Bengal Man Of Rs 1 Cr

Cuttack: The Mangalabagh police on Friday revealed that the self-styled Godman Kaifi Khan has over 80 accounts in various Cuttack banks, along with multiple accounts with Sahara.

In addition to this, Kaifi Khan had also bought a piece of land close to Salepur Paga and used it to support an opulent lifestyle. He was constantly leaving the state to visit different states. Kaifi Khan was recently arrested as a result of a complaint made by a woman who claimed that he conned her out of Rs 62 lakh under the guise of warding off evil spirits and unearthing hidden wealth from her home.

Consequently, a lot of other victims went to the police to report Kaifi Khan. He has been accused of cheating and fraud in six different cases thus far.

One of Kaifi Khan’s associates has reportedly already been arrested, according to a senior official at Mangalabag Police Station. According to preliminary investigation, there are four to five other people who also assisted Kaifi in expanding his network and defrauding people in various locations.

Additionally, it has come to light that Kaifi Khan took Rs 1 crore from a Kolkata resident during the time of demonetization and promised to deposit it in a bank in exchange for a commission. However, further investigation is underway regarding the matter.
