50 Monkeys Killed In Lightning Strike In Balasore

Balasore: At least 50 monkeys were killed after being struck by a lightning strike in Baliapal village under Godsahi block of Jaleswar in Balasore district.

According to reports, the incident occurred while the monkeys were perching on a 150-year-old tamarind tree in the backyard of one Pratap Majhi in the evening, villagers said. Villagers spotted carcasses of at least 50 monkeys lying below the tree after the thundershower and lightning stopped.
