Hizbul Mujahideen Terrorist Neutralized in Foiled Infiltration Attempt at LoC

Srinagar: In a successful counter-infiltration operation along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch, security forces foiled an attempt by Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists during the early hours of Monday. The encounter resulted in the death of one terrorist, identified as Muneer Hussain, a self-styled Division Commander of the group.

Hussain, a resident of Bagyladra Poonch, had a history of crossing the LoC to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) for arms training. He was known for masterminding numerous attacks on security forces and had close ties with prominent Hizbul Mujahideen figures, including Maulana Dawood Kashmir and Syed Salauddin.

According to reliable intelligence inputs, Hussain had recently attended a high-level meeting in Islamabad with the Hizbul Mujahideen group, where they discussed plans to revive terrorism in Rajouri and Poonch areas.

The Indian Army, along with Jammu and Kashmir forces, successfully neutralized the infiltration attempt. While Hussain’s body was recovered, the fate of the other infiltrator shot during the operation remains unknown.
