Youth Slits Throat of Couple in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A couple faced the lethal attack of a youth, who barged into their house at Kimbhiria Basti under Mancheswar police station limits of Bhubaneswar, late Monday night.

According to reports, the assailant slashed the husband’s neck with a blade and attacked the wife with a knife.

Both victims were seriously injured and are admitted to the Capital Hospital for treatment. Later they were shifted to SCB medical college and hospital in Cuttack

The husband, identified as Satyaghana Swain is in critical condition.

The Mancheswar police have started an investigation into the incident.

The reason behind this lethal attack is being investigated. It is suspected that the assailant resorted to this violent act in an inebriated state because of extramarital relation or it was due to some quarrel related to money matters.
