World Cup 2023, IND vs SA: India On Driver’s Seat Despite Losing Rohit, Gill In Top-Of-The-Table Clash

Kolkata: In a top-of-the-table clash, India, led by skipper Rohit Sharma, won the toss and opted to bat first against South Africa. India, the only unbeaten team in the tournament, got off to a strong start thanks to aggressive hitting from Rohit Sharma. However, Kagiso Rabada put the brakes on by dismissing Rohit for 40 runs off 24 balls.

Following Rohit’s dismissal, Shubman Gill was also sent back to the pavilion by Keshav Maharaj with a peach of a delivery. Currently, the Indian team has Birthday boy Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer at the crease, aiming to stabilize the innings and set a competitive total.

India are playing the same eleven, demonstrating confidence in their current lineup. On the other hand, South Africa has made a significant tactical change by replacing pacer Gerald Coetzee with spinner Tabraiz Shamsi, aiming to add a new dimension to their bowling attack.
