Sri Lanka Cricket Board Secretary Resigns Following 302 Run Defeat against India

As a follow-up to Sri Lanka’s disappointing 302-run defeat against India in the ODI World Cup, the secretary of the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), Mohan de Silva has resigned.

After this defeat, Sri Lanka sports minister Roshan Ranasinghe gave a call for the mass resignation of the SLC.

Ranasinghe accused the selection committee and the SLC administration for the dismal performance of the Sri Lanka cricket team in the ODI World Cup.

The SLC administration led by Shammi Silva had ordered a report from the team management over the Wankhede defeat that saw the Sri Lanka team all out for 55.

After the massive loss to India in Mumbai on Thursday, Sri Lanka are out of the race to reach the semifinals. They have only two wins from seven games thus far.

In the next World Cup match Sri Lanka will face Bangladesh in Delhi on November 6.
