Ollywood Producer Tutu Nayak Arrested for Slapping Lady Journalist

Bhubaneswar: Personnel of Kharvel Nagar police station in Bhubaneswar arrested Odia film producer Sanjay Nayak alias Tutu Nayak on Saturday on charges of slapping a female journalist on Friday.

Tutu Nayak was booked under sections 341 (wrongful restraint), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 294 (use of obscene words) and 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the IPC.

Earlier, Tutu Nayak had rendered his apologies to the woman journalist, whom he had allegedly slapped in Bhubaneswar on Friday.

“She is like my daughter. I have known her since last several days. She had visited my house quite a few times. If she has been hurt by any of my behaviour, then I tender my apology,” Nayak said in a statement.

The film producer claimed that he just patted her and asked her to make way for him.

The concerned journalist is a reporter of a digital channel. As per her complaint, Nayak slapped and abused her without any provocation at Sriya-Swati Talkies at around 12.50 pm on Friday.
