Odia Cine Star Varsha Priyadarshini Joins BJD

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the upcoming elections, Ollywood actor Varsha Priyadarshini joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Thursday.

She joined the regional party in the presence of Rajya Sabha member Sasmit Patra at Shankha Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.

After joining the BJD, she showered praises on Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. According to her, she joined the BJD after being inspired by Naveen Patnaik’s spotless personality.

“I am big fan of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. His blemishless image and clean personality always inspired me. The best thing about CM Patnaik is that he is very simple, speaks less but works more. Added to it, he never speaks against anyone. His contribution to Odisha is incomparable. Apart from me he is also ideal for everyone,” she said.

Varsha is the former wife of Kendrapara MP Anubhav Mohanty, who quit the BJD recently to join the BJP.

The couple legally separated a few months back after the Orissa High Court granted a divorce petition filed by the actor-turned-politician Anubhav Mohanty.
