Absconding History-Sheeter Arrested After Gun-Fight In Noida Film City

Noida: A criminal wanted in numerous cases was apprehended on Friday in Noida Film City after a reported run-in and shootout with Sector 20 police.

Danish (27), aka Sayar or Cheeta, a resident of Mayur Vihar in Delhi, was named the accused. He was one of the Chhenu gang’s shooters.

According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Noida), Ashutosh Dwivedi, “Danish had around 20 FIRs lodged against him for loot at various police stations in Delhi-NCR.”

Dwivedi further informed that, on Friday morning, a police check was set up close to the Brahmaputra Market, and Danish was stopped. He did, however, leave the area. Police stations nearby were informed of the development.

“Teams from Brahmaputra Market police post, Atta, and Sector 18 posts chased him, leading them to Film City in Sector 16A where a gunfight ensued near the power house. Danish opened fire on the police teams to escape but was injured in retaliatory firing,” Dwivedi added.

From his possession, police seized a motorcycle, a revolver, two rounds, and four cell phones.

He was taken to a district hospital for treatment after being shot in the leg.

Several robberies and other offences have been filed against the accused.

The police have also initiated a search for his associate, who was with him this morning but fled. The police assured that the said associate will be held soon.
