Jammu: In the wake of a deadly ambush on Army vehicles in Poonch district, Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Pande arrived in Jammu on Monday to assess the situation and oversee the ongoing anti-terror operation. Four soldiers were killed in the attack, sparking outrage and demanding swift action.

General Pande visited the Rajouri-Poonch sector, the epicentre of the operation, to meet key officials and assess the operational readiness and security situation. Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, GOC-in-Chief Northern Command, and Lieutenant General Sandeep Jain, GOC White Knight Corps, were among those involved in the briefing.

A comprehensive search operation is underway near the ambush site, covering Surankote in Poonch and the Thanamandi forest in Rajouri. Mobile internet services remain suspended in both districts for security reasons.
