Bride-to-Be Shot Dead by Lover Hours Before Wedding in UP’s Jhansi

Jhansi: In a shocking incident, a 22-year-old woman named Kajal was shot dead by her alleged lover just hours before her wedding.

The tragic incident unfolded in the Siddheshwar Nagar area on Monday while Kajal was at a local salon preparing for her big day with her sisters and other female family members.

According to police reports, the accused, who hails from the same village as Kajal in Madhya Pradesh’s Datia district, stormed into the salon shouting, “Kajal, come out, you have betrayed my love.” When Kajal refused to comply, he forced his way inside and shot her in the chest. Her sister recounted that the assailant demanded Kajal leave with him and shot her when she refused.

Kajal was immediately rushed to Jhansi Medical College in critical condition but succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

The Jhansi Police have registered an FIR and launched a manhunt for the suspect. SSP S Rajesh confirmed that multiple police teams have been dispatched to Datia and surrounding areas to apprehend the accused, stating, “Strict action will be taken against the perpetrator.”
