Just After Marriage, Man Kills Wife, Ends Own Life in Karnataka

Bengaluru: A 27-year-old man murdered his wife hours after their marriage and then ended his own life in Karnataka’s Kolar district on Thursday.

According to police sources, the accused named Naveen Kumar first killed his wife, Likita Shree (18) with a sickle and then committed suicide.

Naveen Kumar and Likita Shree got married on Wednesday, August 7. After spending time with friends and family before after the ceremony, they visited a relative’s home.

There the couple had an argument inside a room that took a violent turn. Naveen allegedly attacked Likita and killed her. He then ended his life with the same sharp object.

When the relatives broke open the door of the room that was closed from inside, they found the body of the couple in a pool of blood.

The newly married couple was rushed to a nearby hospital by their relatives. Likita was declared brought dead and critically injured Naveen was shifted to another hospital, where he died on Thursday.

The police have seized both bodies for autopsy.

The matter is currently being investigated by the police.
