Odisha: Subhadra Yojana SOP Released; Who Can Apply and How Much Will They Receive?

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet has approved the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the implementation of the Subhadra Yojana, a welfare scheme for women in the state, as announced by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in the Assembly.

Scheduled for rollout between the 2024-25 and 2028-29 financial years, the Subhadra Yojana aims to benefit over 1 crore women aged 21 to 60 in Odisha.

However, women employed in government jobs, income tax payers and those from financially stable families are ineligible. Additionally, women already receiving Rs 1,500 or more per month from other government schemes will also be excluded.

Beneficiaries will receive Rs 5,000 twice annually—once on Raksha Bandhan and again on International Women’s Day (March 8). Over five years, they will accumulate Rs 50,000 directly in their bank accounts.

Women interested in availing of the scheme can apply using forms available at Anganwadi Centres, Block Offices, Mo Seva Kendras and Jan Seva Kendras, all free of charge. A dedicated call centre will also be established to support the scheme.
