Low Pressure Likely Over North BoB on Oct 4, No Cyclone Forecast Yet: IMD DG Mrutyunjay Mohapatra

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted the development of a low-pressure area over the North Bay of Bengal and its surrounding areas by October 4.

Mrutyunjay Mohapatra, Director General of the IMD, stated on Wednesday that a trough extends from the cyclonic circulation over southeast Bangladesh to the North Andaman Sea along the Myanmar coast.

Although the IMD predicts the formation of this low-pressure system, no current forecast has been made regarding its intensification into a depression or cyclonic storm.
