1 Killed 5 Injured in Illegal Blasting at Balasore Stone Quarry

Balasore: A labourer died and five others were seriously injured during illegal blasting without necessary precautions at a stone quarry located at Bagudi in Soro area of Odisha’s Balasore district on Wednesday.

According to sources, the debris from the illegal blasting fell on the workers at the stone quarry killing one of them died on the spot.

Five others, who sustained grievous injuries, were at first rushed to the Soro Hospital. As their condition deteriorated, they were shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

Receiving information, the local Tehsildar and police rushed to spot to initiate an investigation.
