13 Priests Injured During Bhasma Arati in Ujjain’s Mahakal Temple

Ujjain: At least 13 priests were injured when a fire broke out at the Mahakaleshwar temple in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain on Monday morning.

The fire accident happened during the bhasma aarti inside the garbhagriha of the temple on the occasion of Holi. According to devotees present at the spot, the fire broke out while gulal was being sprinkled on the deity.

The local administration has ordered a magisterial probe into the incident. The injured are being provided medical aid.

The injured included temple staff and the chief priest Sanjay Guru. All were admitted to a nearby hospital. No casualties have been reported.
