2 ASIs, 2 Constables Suspended in Jajpur Dist Following Escape of Accused from Police Station

Jajpur: Two ASIs and two constables posted at the Kalinganagar police station in Odisha’s Jajpur district were suspended by the Jajpur SP following the escape of an accused from the police station.

The suspended ASIs were Achutananda Das and Lakshmidhar Raj, and the constables suspended were Ram Murmu and Prashant Kumar.

A robbery accused named Chakra Behera escaped from the Kalinganagar police station on December 5 by removing the exhaust fan in the toilet. Chakra was nabbed in connection with a robbery incident in the local Shalijunga area.

Chakra was nabbed on December 5 from Sobra village under Jajpur Road police station limits and was in police custody. On the same night, the accused went to the toilet and removed the exhaust fan of the toilet to escape.
