2 Dead, Dozen Injured Including Groom as Marriage Party Vehicle Meets Accident in Koraput Dist

Koraput: Two persons died and at least 12 including the bridegroom were injured when a vehicle carrying a marriage party met with an accident on NH-26 near Kaliaguda in Borigumma block of Odisha’s Koraput district, late Sunday night.

The marriage troupe was on its from Narayanpatna in the Koraput district to Umerkote in the Nabarangpur district. Near Kaliaguda, the driver of the vehicle lost control and hit to the wall of a bridge.

Receiving information, the local police and Fire Services personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the injured, who were admitted to the Borigumma Community Health Centre (CHC) for treatment.

Police have started an investigation into the matter.
