2 Killed as SUV in Brij Bhusan Singh’s Son’s Campaign Convoy Hits Bike in UP

Lucknow: Two persons died in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda on Wednesday when a Toyota Fortuner SUV in the convoy of Karan Bhushan Singh, BJP candidate from Kaiserganj Lok Sabha seat hit their bike, reported NDTV.

Karan Bhushan Singh is the son of six-time MP and former wrestling federation chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh was accused of sexually harassing women wrestlers and a Delhi court recently framed charges in the case against him.

Brij Bhusan was denied a BJP poll ticket this time and the party fielded his son Karan as the candidate from Kaisarganj. Interestingly Brij Bhusan’s other son, Pratik Bhushan Singh, is the MLA from Gonda.

According to the FIR, at around 9 am on Wednesday, 17-year-old Rehan and 24-year-old Shahzad, who went on a bike to buy medicines were hit by speeding SUV coming from the opposite side. Both died on the spot. Another person injured in the accident was hospitalized. Family members of the victims demanded justice and compensation.

Police have arrested the driver and seized the SUV. Whether Karan Bhushan Singh was in the convoy at the time of the accident has not been confirmed.
