2 Miscreants Arrested For Assaulting Officials & Vandalizing at Nandankanan Zoo

Bhubaneswar: Two persons were arrested by the personnel of the Nandankanan police station on charges of assaulting and misbehaving with the officials of Nandankanan Zoological Park on Monday night. The miscreants also ransacked the office of the Nandankanan’s deputy director.

According to sources, these two miscreants entered the into the zoo office and vandalized it. They broke furniture, attacked and misbehaved with assistant zoologist, Dr Rajesh Mohapatra, ACF Dr Sudipta Kumar Panda and Dr Rashmi Ranjan Swain.

After getting information, police started a manhunt and nabbed the culprits, who are residents of the Daruthenga village. They were reportedly hiding in a nearby forest.

It is alleged that the arrested men damaged office equipment including computers, laptops, printer machines and television sets apart from assaulting the officials.

Their entire act of violence was captured in the CCTV camera. According to police sources, several other cases are pending against the arrested duo in police stations of Bhubaneswar.
