22 Killed, 30 Missing in Cloudburst In Himachal Pradesh

Shimla: A devastating cloudburst near the Samej and Bagi bridges in Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday night, washing away several people.

Thirteen bodies have been recovered by Thursday morning during the rescue operations taken up by the NDRF and other agencies. According to official sources, the death toll in this recent cloudburst has risen to 22, while around 30 persons are still missing.

According to NDRF sources, ten more people are still missing. Alerts for heavy rainfall were issued for various regions of Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday. The highest rainfall was recorded at Joginder Nagar in Mandi district at 110 mm during the past 24 hours.

The IMD has issued an orange alert for the lower Himalayan districts of Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Chamba, and Mandi.
