3 Illegal Immigrants from Ghana Discovered Aboard Chinese Ship Docked at Paradip Port

Paradip: Three Ghana nationals, suspected to be illegal immigrants, were found on board a Chinese bulk carrier ship, MV Great Sheng Wen, docked at Paradip port.

The Immigration Department here issued a notice to the Chinese ship regarding it.

MV Great Sheng Wen, with 20 crew members, which is loaded with coal from Russia for ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India; has been ordered not to deboard the Ghana nationals at any Indian port. The ship was directed to release the commodities at the earliest and leave Paradip port.

The ship was inspected by the personnel of the port security and the Immigration Department. It is now under the vigil of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel.

The purpose of the presence of the three Ghana citizens on the ship is yet to be ascertained. It is suspected that escaped from their country and boarded the Chinese ship while it was docked at a port of the African nation in April.
