5Kg Suspected Cocaine Seized from Ship Anchored at Paradip Port

Paradip: More than 5kg of white powder suspected to be cocaine was seized from a ship anchored at the Paradip port on the Odisha coast by the customs department. It was packed in 22 packets.

According to reports, the seized contraband originated from Indonesia and was being clandestinely smuggled to Denmark via the Paradip port in Jagatsinghpur district.

The cargo of this contraband was seized by the customs department officers while it was being shifted from the ship named ‘MV Debi’ anchored at the Paradip International Cargo Terminal (PICT), to a Denmark-bound vessel.

Customs officials are investigating to nab the culprits behind this international drugs smuggling racket operating through the sea route.

It the past foreign liquor and cigarettes were seized from the PICT while they were being smuggled to Kolkata.
