3 More Opposition MPs Suspended from Lok Sabha Taking Suspension Toll to 146

New Delhi: Three more Opposition MPs were suspended from the Lok Sabha on Thursday for unruly behaviour. With it, the total number of suspensions from both Houses of the Parliament reached 146.

The number of MPs suspended from the Lok Sabha is now 100.

The suspension of Opposition MPs started as they demanded a statement from the Union Home Minister Amit Shah about the security breach in the Lok Sabha. Two men were able to smuggle in smoke canisters to trigger them in the Lok Sabha chamber during the house proceedings.

The issue has become a major issue of contention between the government and the Opposition. The Opposition has alleged that the suspension of MPs is the government’s ploy to pass key bills without any discussion.
