5 Stabbed to Death, Assailant Shot Dead by Police in Shopping Centre of Australia’s Sydney

Five persons were stabbed to death and a suspect was shot dead by the police in a shopping centre in Australia’s Sydney on Saturday. Several others including a small child were injured in the violent incident.

Assistant Police Commissioner of Sydney, Anthony Cooke told media that a single person began stabbing people in the mall. He attacked nine people, before a police inspector shot him dead. Five victims died.

Chaos prevailed at a shopping centre as several people were stabbed and police shot dead the accused.

According to reports on Australian media, police evacuated shoppers at Westfield Shopping Centre in Bondi Junction, which is in the city’s eastern suburbs.
