Several People Stabbed, One Man Shot by Police at Shopping Centre in Australia’s Sydney

Chaos prevailed at a shopping centre in Australia’s Sydney on Saturday as several people were stabbed and police shot dead a person at the spot.

According to reports in the Australian media, police evacuated shoppers at Westfield Shopping Centre in Bondi Junction, which is in the city’s eastern suburbs. A New South Wales ambulance spokesperson said that one of two alleged offenders had been shot by police and they were searching for the other, ABC reported.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported that four people died in a stabbing incident at the shopping centre. The newspaper also said that one person was also shot. ABC reported that armed police were searching a rooftop parking lot.
