6 Schoolchildren Killed as Bus Overturns in Haryana, Driver was ‘Drunk’

Chandigarh: At least six school students died and several others were injured when their school bus overturned near Unhani village in Kanina sub-division of Haryana on Thursday morning.

Their school was functioning on Thursday despite a holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr.

The accident occurred when the bus was on its way to the school in Kanina town after picking the children from their bus stops.

As per reports, the driver of the school bus was allegedly in a drunken state. He lost control on the steering wheel when the bus reached near the Unhani village.

Hearing the screaming of children, the locals rushed to the spot and rescued the injured children from the bus. They were admitted to a nearby hospital, where six of them were declared brought dead.

The bus driver had been nabbed and he is being interrogated to find out the exact reason behind the mishap.
