7 Of UP Family on Way to Vaishno Devi Killed After Mini Bus Rams Truck On Delhi-Jammu Highway

New Delhi: 7 members of a family from Uttar Pradesh on a pilgrimage to Vaishno Devi hill shrine died when their mini-bus collided with a truck on the Delhi-Jammu National Highway on Friday morning. Around 25 others were injured in this accident.

Thirty members of this family from Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr were travelling in this mini bus on a pilgrimage to Vaishno Devi in Jammu.

The bus collided with a truck near Ambala when the truck driving ahead of the bus suddenly slammed its brakes. The bus driver failed to halt the vehicle in time and it crashed to the truck from behind.

Three members of the family died on the spot and four others died during treatment at a hospital. Over 25 persons injured in this accident were admitted to various hospitals.

According to police sources, the driver of the truck fled the scene leaving behind the truck, which was seized. A case has been filed and further investigation is on.
