Acid Attack Over Land Dispute in Puri Dist, Father & Son Injured

Puri: A man and his son faced an acid attack and were seriously injured critically at Uasapadar village under Krushna Prasad block of Odisha’s Puri district on Monday.

It is alleged that the assailant threw acid at them over a long-standing land dispute between two families in the Usapadar village.

The accused, identified as Santosh Maharana, threw acid at Adhikari Tarei and his son Rajendra Tarei, while both were working in their agricultural field.

The seriously injured victims were at first rushed to Krushnaprasad Community Health Centre (CHC). As their condition deteriorated, they were transported to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar.

Personnel of Krushnaprasad police station have nabbed the accused and he is being interrogated.
