Ayodhya Mosque Construction to Begin in May 2024

Ayodhya: As ordered by the Supreme Court in its Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case decision, the construction of the proposed mosque in Ayodhya is expected to begin in May.

The Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation Trust is building this mosque in Ayodhya’s Dhannipur. In its verdict on November 9, 2019, the Supreme Court allowed the construction of a Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya and also ordered the construction of a mosque on an alternative plot in the town.

The consecration ceremony of the Ram temple is expected to take place on January 22, 2024.

According to the Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation, the final design of the mosque is likely to be ready by mid-February and it will then go for administrative approval.

As per the plans, the mosque’s construction will start in May 2024.

As per the orders of the Supreme Court, the government provided five acres of land in Dhannipur, Ayodhya, to the Sunni Central Waqf Board, Uttar Pradesh, to construct the mosque.
