Baitarani & Jalaka Rivers Cross Danger Mark

Bhubaneswar: The recent heavy rains in Odisha because of a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, the water level of the Baitarani river is increasing fast. has registered a sharp increase.

As per reports, the Baitarani river breached the danger mark at Akhuapada in Bhadrak district on Wednesday. The river flowed at 17.90 mts at the spot at 6 am while the danger mark is 17.83 mts.

Baitarani has crossed the danger mark for the third time this year. Similarly, the Jalaka river breached the danger mark near Mathani in the Balasore district. The river flowed above 6.32 metre against the danger mark of 5.50 metre.

Similarly, the water level in Salandi, Reba and Kapali rivers has also been rising.
