BCCI Revokes Ban On Odisha Cricketer Sumit Sharma

Bhubaneswar: The two-year ban on Odisha senior men’s cricket team Sumit Sharma was revoked by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), said Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) through a press release.

The 29-year-old Sumit was part of Odisha’s Ranji Trophy squad for the 2023-24 season and had travelled to Vadodara for the opening match in the first week of January. But he was banned for two years from domestic cricket by the BCCI on charges of submitting multiple fake age certificates.

The ban order on him has been lifted prematurely. If selected, Sumit is now eligible to represent Odisha in the upcoming season.
